John Faber is a loyal and enthusiastic operational director with experience leading all facets of operations. Throughout his career, John has led operational and financial strategies, creating dedication and loyalty with his staff. Having successfully held leadership positions in production, logistics and technical service John’s broad base of knowledge has given him the ability to create effective change within all the industries he has served. John’s experiences in Healthcare, Agriculture, Food Production, Chemical Production and Automotive, highlights the versatility and adaptability that he brings to the organizations that he supports.
Presently, John serves as the Director of Facilities and Capital Planning for one of the top 15 largest hospitals in Ontario. At Windsor Regional Hospital, John leads Facilities operations across 2 main hospital sites. John’s focus on indirect patient care as it relates to Facilities is evident in the dedication his staff show in making older building run efficiently.
Since joining the WRH team, first with an outsourced firm and then directly as the Director of Facilities and Capital Planning, John has contributed to the organization effectively leading the team through the Covid-19 pandemic. During that time John was the driving force behind the 100 bed Field Hospital at St. Clair College, the 1000 person/day vaccination center at the former Windsor Star Building, and the 4000 person/day vaccination center at the former Sears building at Devonshire Mall. With his career starting in the automotive industry as an engineer on a production line, John brings his passion and strive for knowledge into all aspects of what he does. At WRH, John has successfully pushed forwards plans for a new Radiation Treatment Bunker and a new two table Cath lab despite the current planning for a new Acute Care Hospital and significant Ministry of Health push back. Utilizing his skills in sales, John has created trusting relationships with internal and external stakeholders across all levels in the Healthcare industry, from the Ministry of Health to the support staff in the Hospital.
John’s professional experience is complemented by his License to practice Professional Engineering which he acquired in 2020, 22 years after graduating from the University of Waterloo in Chemical Engineering. In 2019 John decided to dedicate himself to achieving this milestone is a testament to his hard work and dedication that he completed it. John is also the President and CEO of Faber Engineering Inc. which holds a Certificate of Authorization to provide engineering services in the province of Ontario. While John maintains the company and the C of A, John has put the company on pause for the time being as he works for Windsor Regional Hospital.
A lifelong Soccer fan, player, referee and coach, John has been a travel coach and a member of the Board of Directors of the Amherstburg Soccer Club. Within the hospital John sits on the Finance and Audited Resources Committee as a staff member for WRH as well as on The Patient and Care Giver Council and the Patient Experience Task Force. With in the Community, John is a member of the Certified Healthcare Engineering Society, ASHRAE, the City of Windsor Environmental Task Force, and the Emergency Response Planning Committee for the City of Windsor.
